"The White Chocolate"

Hi, my name is Amber. I am a 17-year-old girl. Unlike most teenage girls, who spend time with their friends hanging out, shopping, pajama parties, or even salons, I'm just alone -- well, I don't have any friends. But strangely, it doesn't matter to me because I feel happy living on my own without having to have a friend. Oh, there's something else that's unique about me. I'm a chocolate lover; Chocolate is everything -- I can live happily just by eating chocolate. Well, even though most of the time, my school friends made fun of me because I love chocolate, like, "Hey, choco girl, want me to treat you to 1 ton of chocolate?" "How many calories do you eat in a day?" "Should I wear a chocolate costume to be your friend?" and many others. I don't know if the ridicule can be categorized as "bullying" or not -- but one thing that they should know … I don't care what they say; I am just who I am.

One day, during break time at school, I wanted to go to the cafeteria alone – yeah, like usual. Before leaving, I reached the front of my bag to get something I needed. But, instead of finding what I needed, I found something else which confused me. I stared at the thing for a moment, then continued my steps toward the cafeteria. While doing my homework that night, I didn't know what got into me, but I suddenly wanted to have a friend. Maybe previously, I haven't thought about what will happen if I live without friends. Sadly, I am a human, and humans are called social beings, which means humans need other humans. And I realized the little things that often happened to me, such as the difficulty of finding friends to study with. I immediately turned to the right side of my desk, where I put my favorite chocolate bar and threw it onto my bed. Now, I feel like chocolate is no longer the "savior" of my happiness.

The next day, I'm doing my daily life as a student. I went straight to my favorite school desk in the corner near the window. Then, I arranged and put my books in the drawer under the desk, and suddenly something fell. I picked it up and instantly remembered that it was the same thing I found yesterday in my bag – a white chocolate bar. I noticed a small note on the back as I rubbed the chocolate wrapper. The letter says "Look at the window" with the initials "J" below it. I suddenly turned my gaze towards the window; I saw a girl who seemed familiar to me. Why not? She is also a student at this school; I must have seen her several times. The girl with short brown hair waved her hand at me while smiling broadly; I did the same.

Then I realized --

That I just finally got one.
